Composer
David F.M. Vaughn hails from Palm Harbor, Florida, and is a
graduate of the theatre program at Florida State University, where he
studied theatre and Spanish. Also, he studied the oboe, and participated in
the opera department as a vocalist. During his 3 years at Florida State, he
worked as a dance teacher, actor, musical director, choreographer, and
musician, giving him a wide variety of training in the theatre. David was on
the music faculty at the Broadway Theatre Project, a 3 week summer intensive
musical theatre program founded by Ann Reinking as their Orchestra
coordinator. He has been involved with the Broadway Theatre Project since
1998. As an actor, David has played numerous theatres across the country, as
well as Europe. Selected roles include Chester in the Broadway National
Tour of "Saturday Night Fever", Riff in "West Side Story," the national tour
of "Spirit of the Dance", Reuben in "Joseph...Dreamcoat" starring Sheena
Easton, the original Las Vegas cast of "TommyGunn" at the MGM Grand in Las
Vegas, and Cousin Kevin in "The Who's Tommy", and most recently, the
regional premiere of "Les Miserables" as Enjolras. As a composer, The Johnny
is David's second full work. The first, a 1-hour children's musical entitled
"Extraordinary!", was awarded "Outstanding Music and Lyrics" from the 2005
New York International Fringe Festival. David can be seen this fall in the
new Broadway musical "Shrek".

David L. Williams is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Cornell University and a member of the Dramatist Guild of America, Inc. He is the author of more than 25 plays, including the Riverside Stage Company's Founer's award-winning "Ampersand", and the Heermans-McCalmon Playwriting Contest winners "The Murder of Gonzago", "Near Tragedy", and "Ingulf". David's most recently staged works are the children's musical, "The Bully" (currently on tour), the New York International Fringe Festival productions, "Tess' Last Night", "The Information She Carried", and "The Armageddon Dance Party", and the Crown Points Festival production, "The Tailers".
